Why we built it
Online file converters have a reputation problem, and mostly they have earned it. Pages buried in adverts. Watermarks on the output. Sign-up walls that appear after you have already uploaded. Worst of all, no clear answer to the one question that matters: what happens to my file?
ConvertNicely is our attempt at the opposite. It is fast, it is free, it does not ask who you are, and it deletes your upload the moment the work is done and the result one hour later.
How it works
Every conversion runs through one shared engine rather than 56 separate scripts. We upload your file, queue it, convert it in a sealed process that can reach nothing else, and hand it back. Your upload is deleted as soon as the job finishes; the result is deleted one hour later.
That single-engine design is why we can add a new conversion in an afternoon and why every tool behaves consistently — same limits, same privacy guarantees, same honest error messages.
Where conversion has limits
Some conversions simply cannot be perfect. Turning a PDF back into an editable Word document means reconstructing structure the PDF never recorded. Extracting a table from a scanned page is guesswork, however good the tool. Where that is true, we say so on the page instead of over-promising and letting you find out afterwards.
Accounts
An account is optional and free. It lets you sign in on any device and reset your password by email if you forget it. Everything else works without one.
What is next
More conversions, and a documented API for developers. Paid plans may come later for people who need larger files or automated access. The converters you use today stay free.
