Privacy policy

What we do with your files, in plain language.

Last updated: 30 September 2026

We keep your data only as long as a job needs it. Uploads are deleted when processing ends; results one hour later. This page explains exactly what that means.

Who we are

ConvertNicely is operated by Mohd Nafees, which is the data controller for the information described here. To ask about your data, write to us through the contact page.

Your files

When you convert a file, it is uploaded over an encrypted connection to private storage that is never publicly readable. A conversion worker processes it, writes the result, and then:

  • Your uploaded file is deleted immediately when the conversion finishes — whether it succeeded or failed.
  • The converted result is deleted automatically after 1 hour.
  • You can delete the result yourself at any time using the ‘Delete result now’ button shown after conversion.

Two separate mechanisms delete files: a scheduled clean-up, and a rule on the storage itself that removes anything the clean-up missed.

What we never do

  • We never read the contents of your files. Conversion is fully automated.
  • We never log, index or store the contents of your documents.
  • We never use your files to train models or for any other purpose.
  • We never sell or share your files with third parties.

What we do keep

To run the service we store a little information about each conversion: which tool, the file size, whether it succeeded and how long it took. The filename is kept only while the job exists, so we can name your download. A job you never start is discarded after 30 minutes. The job record is deleted 30 days after the job ends.

We record a hashed version of your IP address to detect abuse. It is never stored in raw form and is discarded after seven days.

To see which pages are used and how fast they load, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It counts page views without cookies or any identifier that follows you, and never sees your files.

Accounts

You can use every converter without an account. If you create one, we store your name, your email address and a hashed password, and we email you a six-digit code to confirm the address. Codes expire on their own. An account lets you sign in on any device and reset your password by email. To delete your account, please contact us and we will remove it.

Contact messages

If you write to us through the contact form, we store your name, email address and message so a person can read and reply to it, and we email a copy to the team. We use it for nothing else.

Cookies

We use two functional cookies: one that links your browser to the conversions you started, and one that keeps you logged in if you have an account. Neither contains personal information. See our cookie notice for details.

Security

Files travel over HTTPS. Each conversion runs in its own sealed process that cannot reach the internet unless the tool needs to (for example, Web to PDF). We check every file before we process it.

Your rights

We hold little personal data: a hashed IP address for seven days, session cookies, the job records described above and, if you have one, your account details and any message you send us. Job records and IP hashes are deleted automatically on the schedule given here. If you want anything erased sooner, or have a question about your data, please contact us.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects how your files are handled, we will say so clearly on this page rather than quietly revising it.
