Split PDF Files

Most of the time only part of a PDF is the part you need — one signed page out of a contract, the first five pages of a report, or every page as its own file for filing. This takes the pages you name and hands them back as a new document, leaving the original untouched. Nothing is re-rendered, so text stays selectable and quality is unchanged.

Your files are deleted automatically

Uploads are removed as soon as processing finishes, and converted files are deleted after 1 hour. Read our privacy policy.

How to split PDF files

  1. Step 1

    Add your PDF file

Drag your PDF file into the box, or choose it from your device. It can be up to 95 MB.

  2. Step 2

    Choose your settings

Fill in “Pages”. Adjust Mode (Extract pages), or keep the starting values in brackets, which suit most files.

  3. Step 3

    Press Split PDF

The work happens on our servers, and you can follow its progress.

  4. Step 4

    Download your PDF files

A single file downloads as it is; several come together in a ZIP. Your upload is already deleted, and the result is deleted after one hour.

Worth knowing

Pages come out in document order, not the order you type them: 5,1 gives you pages 1 and 5, and a page named twice appears once. Password-protected PDFs are refused; Unlock PDF removes the password first (a PDF that only restricts printing or copying unlocks without one). Document properties such as author and title are not carried into the extracted file, and splitting into single pages produces at most 200 files in one job.

Why split PDF files?

  • Pulling one signed page out of a contract to send on its own
  • Sending a colleague only the section of a report that concerns them
  • Separating a batch of scanned documents into one file per record
  • Removing pages you do not want to share before sending a document
