Convert MP3 to WAV
MP3 is compressed for small files; WAV is the raw, uncompressed audio that editors, samplers and CD software expect. This decodes your MP3 to a standard 16-bit PCM WAV — the universal interchange format — so it drops straight into a DAW, a sampler or a disc, keeping the original channels and sample rate exactly as they were.

Worth knowing
A WAV is bigger — often ten times the MP3 — because nothing is compressed, so the result can be up to 400 MB: about 39 minutes of 44.1 kHz stereo, or 36 minutes at 48 kHz. For a longer recording, use the trim option to convert it a section at a time. The WAV is 16-bit PCM at the MP3's own channels and sample rate; it cannot recover detail the MP3 already discarded, but it adds no further compression.
