Watermark Images

Watermarking is how a photograph stays attributable once it leaves your hands. Type a line of text or upload your logo, put it where you want it, and set how strongly it shows — then apply the same settings to every image in the batch at once. Each file comes back in the format it went in as, the same size it was, the right way up.

How to watermark images

  1. Step 1

    Add your files

Drag up to 19 JPG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, BMP, HEIC or AVIF files into the box, or choose them from your device. Each can be up to 50 MB.

  2. Step 2

    Choose your settings

Fill in “Watermark text”. Adjust Watermark (Text), Text size (10% of width), Text colour (White), Position (Centre), Opacity (50%) and Rotation (0°), or keep the starting values in brackets, which suit most files. Some choices show further settings. The preview shows how it will look before you start. If you choose “Image or logo”, also add the watermark image (PNG, JPG or WebP).

  3. Step 3

    Press Add watermark

The work happens on our servers, and you can follow its progress.

  4. Step 4

    Download the result

Each file comes back in the format it went in; several come together in a ZIP. Your upload is already deleted, and the result is deleted after one hour.

Worth knowing

A watermark is drawn into the pixels, so the file is saved again — which re-compresses a JPG, WebP or HEIC slightly. Your original is never modified. And a watermark discourages casual reuse rather than preventing it: anyone determined enough can crop or paint one out.

Why watermark images?

  • Marking proofs and previews before a client has paid for them
  • Putting a studio name or URL across photos going onto social media
  • Stamping a logo onto a batch of product shots so they all match
  • Labelling internal screenshots as drafts before they circulate
