Convert WebP to ICO
A favicon is the little icon in a browser tab, and browsers still ask for it as an ICO — one file carrying the same picture at several sizes. This fits your WebP onto a square, without stretching it, and builds that multi-size ICO, keeping transparency so it sits cleanly on any tab colour.

Worth knowing
A non-square WebP is centred on a transparent square so it is not stretched, which can leave space at the sides. An animated WebP becomes an icon of its first frame. The icon is built down from your image, never scaled up past it — start from at least 256×256 for the full set of sizes. Only an image under 16 pixels is enlarged, to the 16×16 size every icon needs.
Why convert WebP to ICO?
- Making a favicon.ico for a new website from a WebP logo
- Reusing a WebP logo saved from a website as the site's own favicon
- Producing the favicon an older framework or CMS expects as .ico
- Turning a profile picture or mark into a browser tab icon
