Convert GIF to JPG
GIF is limited to 256 colours, which is why photographs saved as GIFs look banded and blotchy. JPG has no such limit. Converting gives you a still image that every program, printer and upload form accepts — and for an animated GIF the still image is its first frame.

Worth knowing
JPG holds one still image, so an animated GIF is converted using its first frame and the result tells you how many frames there were. JPG also has no transparency — transparent areas are filled with the background colour you choose.
